Cascade

The pattern: Cascade, a free pattern sized 3 months to 6 years

The yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash in yellow

The knitting: Relatively simple. The leaf placket detail is very cute, but it took one or two goes before I nailed the pattern. I had to add a k2tog in row 1 of the lace pattern to make the stich count add up. First time I’ve tried the *k1, p1*, k across technique for the ribbing, and it looks very nice.

The finished project: A little bit tight for my toddler, so wish I’d gone a size up as she won’t be able to wear it for very long. It can be hard to see which holes are button holes and which are details from the leaf lace pattern when buttoning in a hurry! The yarn is hard wearing and looks good even after a few washes.
